What is the Craigmillar Partnership?

  The Craigmillar Partnership is one of 48 Social Inclusion Partnerships set up by the government to help bring about a wide range of improvements that will benefit local people, employers and the city as a whole.

The idea behind the Partnership is to get people and agencies working together.

We have a Partnership Board that sets out the main priorities for the organisation. Day-to-day work is carried out through a series of sub groups and by our Support team who are based in the Partnership's offices on Niddrie Mains Road. A set of objectives underpin our work. They are firmly focused on delivering a bright future for the people who live and work in Craigmillar now, and those that will in the future.

  • Local councillor (chair)

What are the Craigmillar Partnership here to do?

We have a specific mission statement that sets out our main aim. This statement is: "By the year 2010 Craigmillar will be a self-sustaining, popular and valued community within Edinburgh."
Achieving that goal means Craigmillar will have:
  • A mixed and stable population living in good quality, attractive homes that meet a range of needs;
  • A safe and attractive environment;
  • An expanding local economy providing increased job opportunities;
  • A full range of educational, technological and learning resources;
  • A strong sense of community with widespread and effective community representation.

A great deal of progress has already been made. However, there is still more for the Craigmillar Partnership to do.
